I have been sewing since I was six years old. I've always loved to do crafts and enjoyed teaching and sharing my passion with others. When I was thirteen years old, I taught my mom to sew, she is the person on the left in the photo. It was wonderful to be able to work on crafts and sew together with my mother. Eventually we both were hired at a local fabric store and were able to work together for several years.
My mom passed away from breast cancer in 2007 and sewing has become a therapy for me to deal with her loss. I love going into my fabric room and sewing. The colors and textures of the material evoke many wonderful and comforting memories of time spend with my mom.
I started All Stitched Up as a way to share my love for sewing and quilting with others and to keep the memory of my mother alive in my heart.
